PREP TIME - getting ready FOR launch!
Our sample collection has made it home and we are so so excited. We are at a point now where we can really get to know our products, play around with colours and style, and see how the textures come to life. We are shooting pictures for our lookbook next week and until then, we are busy preparing, fitting, testing locations and looks. In this blogpost, we invite you in to see our work behind the scenes.
Texture and colour have been key points in our design process. There is an interesting life in things that are both subtle and bold in their essence that we love and continue to explore.
The design process, sample development and ongoing creation has been all but static, the alpaca wool is full of treats and tricks! We already knew the material has great qualities like softness and strength (to name a few), but the way it comes to life when you start wearing it really supports our initial vision for a collection of substance and heart. The garment will first seem like a likeable and interesting acquaintance, but the more time you spend together, the more it will start to adjust to you, your body and even your body temperature. And then it becomes hard to separate yourself from. It’s quite magical, actually.
Peru is full of astonishing colours. We have fallen in love with the beautiful walls of Barranco in Lima - an inspiration for us, both in the choice of colours of yarn, but also in the shoot to come..
We are getting help from a lot of talented people. And without them, we would not have gotten this far so quickly. Mug photoshoots are a way for us to test out poses, angles and colours. We take pride and passion in being engaged at every level.
When you look closely, you will see that we care meticulously for every detail of the knit. And if you are the type who have not yet flashed knitted trousers when going out, now will be the time.
It takes time and a great team to develop the right creative look and feel. Here we are, immersed in location scouting, pondering whether someone's bathroom could be a secret source of inspiration.
We are launching our collection on the 4th of October through a Kickstarter Crowdfunding campaign. We need your support to put this collection into production inside women's prisons in Peru. We are making our lookbook next week - and will soon be revealing our entire collection. Please help us share who we are and what we do with your friends - we need as many people onboard as possible So we can make a real difference through quality and beauty.
